About the Role
Overview of position: Scoular has recently made an exciting investment in an owned asset to crush both soybeans and canola for use in the growing renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel markets.
The Merchandiser Assistant I (MA I) has primary responsibility to perform administrative accounting functions and insure adherence to proper control procedures of the business unit.
The MA I must enter all pertinent information in their business unit’s system on a daily basis.
The Merchandiser Assistant I contributes to positive customer and vendor relations.
The MA I is required to report all perceived control policy or procedure concerns to the Controller.
This position will perform bookkeeping functions, logistical support and documentation requirements surrounding our Canola and Soybean crush business, including the procurement, production and outbound sales.
This individual is a key person responsible for accurately carrying out the workflow over the life cycle of a trade, from initial transaction through all stages of execution.
Responsible for coordinating with operational management at the Goodland Crush Facility for handling production, associated costs in Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Responsible for accurate and timely information entry and reporting functions.
This could include entering new contracts, purchase/sales information and delivery transactions into the CTRM system.
This includes the entire supply chain process from pre-advise to final settlement stages.
Maintain an organized filing system which includes invoices, contracts, reports and payment receipts.
Ensure compliance of accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
Act as a primary contact for finance for business unit accounting functions.
Responsible for the accurate reporting and reconciliation of inventory.
Work with operations, Accounting/Control, and contract labor to gather necessary load transaction information.
Provide customer support and coordinate logistics and billing.
Answer merchandiser lines during their absence; provide accurate and timely logistic support (e.
g.
freight support for rail and trucks).
Communicate business position and miscellaneous adjustments to the merchandiser/plant operations/accounting.
About You
High school diploma or GED
Ability to handle confidential materials
Basic understanding of general accounting principles
Strong math skills
Excellent customer service skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
Ability to accurately and completely conduct repetitive tasks
Ability to work with a wide variety of people
Preferred
Knowledge of commodities business, with Crush experience being a plus
Two years of office experience
